That's it, I'm done.

I'm done with Linux. I'm done with this whole alternate BS approach to computing. I don't know why I've fought it for so long, because all it does is cause me grief, despair, and lost time.

I seriously don't know why it took me this long to give up. Every major diversion I've been sucked into has been dealing with "Linux doesn't do that" or "If you were running Windows this wouldn't be a problem."

So, fuck it. I'm ditching Linux, and going Vista as my primary desktop and satellite machine hosts. I'm replacing my MythTV host with a Windows Media Center, and I'm looking at reconfiguring boomer to be a Win2003 Server. We've already ported CONGO to Windows, all the stuff I've been doing works fine under Windows, I'm just throwing in the towel.

I encourage others who have been fighting this trend to follow my example. It doesn't make sense to have to deal with ridiculous complexities and half completed software just to read your email, when one company provides a perfectly stable, supported, commercial set of tools.

Join me as I jump down the rabbithole.

Ya know, it was the "Vista" part that gave it away. You would have had me if you had said "XP"

In the "He may have gone insane, but no one is THAT insane" sense? :)

In the "Hey may have gone insane, but that's a lot of crow to eat" sense.

Me too. :) I was all wide-eyed "wow, he's been pushed round the bend..." until I got to that. Even me, the non-geekiest geek out there (I couldn't grep my way out of a paper bag, sadly...) knows that Vista is the biggest PITA in the universe...

You almost had me, but choosing Vista was just over the top!

You know, for a moment there, i thought that either Bill gates had hijacked your blog or that you were on something stronger then me.

I actually got a little worried there.

The pod people are back! It's an invasion!

And then I realized that Ive been suckered.

In other news, up is down, black is white, and pink is the new black.

I don't view this as simply jerking our chains. It's clearly a satire of all the poor saps stuck with Vista. :P

PS. Getamac *duck*

Yeah, I caught on at that first sentence. By the time I got to "going Vista" I was gigglin'. Thanks for the laugh!
